Chewing toys

Three toys rotated weekly beat ten left out permanently. The rotation is the product; the toys are just the parts.

Cleaning and care

Rotation is the point. A toy left out for a month stops registering. Rabbits respond to novelty, and the same object reintroduced after two weeks away gets treated as new. Keep two or three out, put the rest away, and swap weekly.

Introducing a new one. Put it where they already chew, not where you would prefer they chewed. If they are slow to investigate, rub it with a bit of their hay first.

What normal wear looks like. Untreated wood is meant to be destroyed. A toy coming apart over a few weeks is the toy working, not failing. Replace it when the pieces get small enough to swallow whole.

If they ignore all of them. Check the hay first. A rabbit that is not eating enough hay chews furniture rather than toys, because the furniture is bigger and more interesting. More toys will not fix an under-supplied hay rack.

Keep them dry. Wood toys left in a damp corner or next to the water bowl will go mouldy. If one gets wet, let it dry fully or bin it.
